Philly RACES

Philly RACES is a series of running events in Philadelphia that is sponsored or supported by the City of Philadelphia’s Managing Director’s Office and the Department of Parks and Recreation. 

Philly RACES was established to support the health and wellness of the city through running events that engage more youth and adults in our park spaces as well as to build running program offerings across a variety of skill levels to grow these events.

The two anchor events in the running series are the Blue Cross Broad Street Run in May and the Philadelphia Marathon Weekend, which includes a full marathon, a half-marathon and a 8K event in November.

In addition to these large-scale, well-established races, the running series will consist of several 5K runs within the parks in the Parks & Recreation system throughout the year.

Branded Fit. Fun. Philly., these races support good causes in every watershed park as well as other unique locations. The Fit. Fun. Philly. running series include:
